Vitamin D has been shown to play a crucial role in supporting and maintaining healthy bones, the body’s immune system and cardiovascular health. Specifically, Vitamin D3, cholecalciferol, promotes the absorption of both calcium and phosphorus from the gastrointestinal tract.

CardioMender, MD’s preparation combines Vitamin K2 with D3 since K2 has been shown to preferentially direct calcium to bones and teeth and away from being deposited in arteries, soft tissues and joints. CardioMender, MD selected a specific form of Vitamin K2, MK-7, because MK-7 has a long half-life that promotes more stable and persistent levels. Studies have also shown that when Vitamins K2 and D3 are used together, they provide synergistic benefits to both the cardiovascular and musculoskeletal systems. Additionally, medical research has shown that Vitamin K2 may be associated with an improvement in insulin resistance having a positive impacting in people with Type-2 diabetes, and promote weight loss in those with insulin resistance; additional studies are needed.
